About Lori LoManto, MA, LPC, CDAC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug counselor with 8 years of professional experience of working with men, women and children struggling with life-controlling problems, such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse and trauma. In addition, I have 13 years of experience working at a facility comprised of women and children affected by addiction and suffering with emotional disorders as a result.

I worked for three years in a psychiatric facility, helping clients to restructure their thought process, meet goals and gain new skill sets to function in the community.

I draw from many different therapeutic methods, which include theories such as Creation Therapy, Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy.

Throughout my career, I have learned that the relationship between counselor and client is the most important step to honest, productive counseling sessions. Therefore, my counseling theories are based on the needs of the client. I establish a safe environment and collaborate with the client to outline their goals and objectives. I believe that with good counseling and support, the client can create change, gain strength and feel empowered.

I graduated with an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College in NYC with a graduate degree from Centenary College, where I also serve as an adjunct professor.
