Meet Our Clinicians and Friends
Lori Lomanto, MA, LPC, LCADC, ACS
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug counselor with professional experience working with men, women, and adolescents struggling with life-controlling problems, such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, and trauma. I gained extensive experience while working in facilities comprised of women and children affected by addiction suffering with emotional disorders and in a psychiatric facility helping clients restructure their thought processes so they could meet their goals and gain new skill sets to function in the community.<
I draw from many different therapeutic methods, such as creation therapy, person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
Throughout my career, I have learned that the relationship between counselor and client is the most important step to honest, productive counseling sessions. Therefore, my counseling theories are based on the needs of the client. I establish a safe environment and collaborate with the client to outline their goals and objectives. I believe that with good counseling and support, the client can create change, gain strength, and feel empowered.
I graduated with an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College in NYC with a graduate degree from Centenary College, where I also served as an adjunct professor.
